I had become frustrated with receiving media write errors on my 3 year old macbook. It appears that my internal drive became picky on what brand discs I could use. I decided to do some research on an external drive. I found that this unit has all the features I wanted. This unit works fantastic with any brand of discs. A note to mac users who buy this unit. This unit is plug and play, which means that you don't have to install a program. All you do is plug in the (usb) it has two connectors but only one is needed, then when you open iTunes, for example you just click the burn button and this unit takes over bypassing your internal drive.
